“It explores the real person and his ambiguities. His personality isn't totally clear cut. He wrote wonderful poetry. A lot of it is erotic and a lot of it is homoerotic. We don't want to paint him as being gay, but he was confused and unsure about his sexuality. It's left up to the audience to decide.”
